Who is Porta Party DJ?

The Benno Brothers…no they aren’t a trapeze act or anything, but can do tricks…but that’s another story.

Chris Benno started Porta Party DJ in July of 2003. However being a DJ and entertaining are not new to him. Chris starting Djing in his senior year of high school, did a few small jobs, as much as for fun as for money. Then in 1992 Chris was a bartender at a local club, got up on Karaoke night on a bet and sang some Elvis. The reaction was good, the story, gets longer. After a couple of years doing Karaoke as “Karaoke Chris” he then moved on to a band with his little brother… enter the year 1994 and the band, “Renegade”. A couple of years later…”The Whiskey Jack Band” was formed and December of 2003, after some local success, the band folded. The “stage” had been set, Chris loved to entertain, and now it was time to do it by himself, with a microphone and a ton of music that he loved. Chris prides himself on knowledge of all types of music…from Classic Country to new Hip Hop, the DJ business has been good. Forgot to mention, this “DJ” thing is also his day job. You may hear Chris on Mix 99.9 from 3 till 7, and if you want to buy some radio advertising, he is the man to see.

Darin Benno started with his big brudder in 2004 and has grown to love Djing almost as much as Motorcycling. Darin’s “Day job” is selling at Pure Honda in Minot. If you are in need of some wheels…fast or for the dirt…2 or 4 wheels…Darin can help you! Darin loves to get the crowd pumped…get them dancing and have a good time. In fact he thrives on it! Darin too, like his brother Chris, has spent time on stage entertaining. He played drums with Chris in Renegade, and moved up to guitar in Whiskey Jack, mostly because of talent, some because of the fact he liked to shake his “Wrangler butt” for the ladies! Surprisingly Darin didn’t immediately know what to think of the Djing, but quickly, he learned to love it… and now jokingly ribs his big brudder about who is a better DJ.
